PAYMENT TRANSFER SERVICE
In response to numerous customer requests, Shippingmasters now offers an optional independent third party document transfer service. The majority of our shipping customers are purchasing or selling a vehicle and are looking for a means to transfer the check for the vehicle purchase from the buyer to the seller. The main advantage of this service for the buyer is that the seller does not have possession of both the vehicle and the buyers check at the same time. The main advantage of this service for the seller is that the seller can verify that the buyers check for the vehicle is on hand with an independent party, Shippingmasters, prior to releasing the vehicle to the shipper. Another advantage for the seller is that in most cases, the vehicle shipment can be placed on hold if the buyer does not authorize Shippingmasters to send the check for the vehicle. (This feature is not available with every shipper, and not available if you use a shipper you find on your own to transport your vehicle – a shipper not referred to you by Shippingmasters). If the vehicle has to be shipped back to the seller, the buyer pays all shipping charges. Shippingmasters also has the option to send the check to the seller without the buyers authorization, if the buyer hasn’t provided authorization to send the check within 48 hours of the vehicle being picked up by the shipper.
NOTE: You do not have to use a shipper that we have quoted in order to use the Shippingmasters transfer services.
Below is an outline of the Shippingmasters process for motorcycle title transfer services:
- The motorcycle buyer and seller agree to use the Shippingmasters transfer service for payment transfer.
- The buyer sends a check or money order made out in the seller’s name to Shippingmasters. The check should arrive at Shippingmasters prior to vehicle pick up. Send check to:
Shippingmasters
4300 N Miller Rd Suite 110-1
Scottsdale, AZ 85251 - Upon receipt of the check, Shippingmasters sends a copy of the check or money order to the buyer and the seller via email or fax as proof that the check is on hand with Shippingmasters.
- Once the shipper picks up the vehicle, the seller is required to contact the buyer to let him/her know the vehicle has been picked up by the shipper.
- The buyer is then required to contact Shippingmasters within 24 hours of receiving notification from the seller that the vehicle has been picked up by the shipper. The buyer is responsible to verify that the vehicle has actually been picked up and then authorizes Shippingmasters to release the check for the vehicle to the seller. Shippingmasters will only release the check to the seller upon notification by the buyer (not the seller). Shippingmasters is not responsible for verifying the pick up and delivery of the vehicle.
(Note: If the buyer does not contact Shippingmasters with authorization to send the check to the seller within 48 hours of the vehicle being picked up by the shipper, Shippingmasters has the option to forward the check to the seller without authorization from the buyer. In this case only, Shippingmasters will verify with the shipper that the vehicle has been picked up from the seller prior to sending the check to the seller). - Shippingmasters sends the check to the seller via USPS Priority Mail. (Overnight document delivery service is also available for an additional fee)
- If there is any dispute between the buyer and the seller over the purchase or shipment of the vehicle, Shippingmasters will review the buyer and sellers position and attempt to determine an appropriate course of action relative to the transfer of the check (assuming we haven’t already sent the check to the seller). If a mutually agreeable solution cannot be found, Shippingmasters will transfer the check back to the buyer. No other options will be considered and no refund of the Shippingmasters payment transfer service fee will be issued.
NOTE: Deviations to the above process are possible. Shippingmasters will need agreement for any process deviation from both the buyer and the seller via email or in writing, prior to using our transfer service.
TITLE TRANSFER SERVICE
Shippingmasters also offers a transfer service for the transfer of the vehicles title from the seller to the buyer. The main advantage of this service for the seller is that the buyer does not have possession of the title prior to the seller receiving the check for the vehicle. The main advantage of this service for the buyer is that the buyer can verify that the sellers title for the vehicle is on hand with an independent party, Shippingmasters, prior to releasing the check for the vehicle to the seller. If the seller does not contact Shippingmasters with authorization to send the title to the buyer within 48 hours of receiving the check, Shippingmasters has the option to forward the title to the buyer without receiving authorization from the seller.
Below is an outline of the Shippingmasters title transfer process:
- The buyer and seller agree to use the Shippingmasters transfer service for title transfer.
- The seller sends the vehicles title signed over to the buyer to Shippingmasters. The title should arrive at Shippingmasters prior to vehicle pick up. Send title to:

(Note: If the seller does not contact Shippingmasters with authorization to send the title to the buyer within 48 hours of receiving the check, Shippingmasters has the option to forward the title to the buyer without receiving authorization from the seller). - Shippingmasters sends the title to the buyer via USPS Priority Mail. (Overnight document delivery service is also available for an additional fee)
- If there is any dispute between the buyer and the seller over the purchase or shipment of the vehicle, Shippingmasters will review the buyer and sellers position and attempt to determine an appropriate course of action relative to the transfer of the title (assuming we haven’t already sent the title to the buyer). If a mutually agreeable solution cannot be found, Shippingmasters will transfer the title back to the seller. No other options will be considered and no refund of the Shippingmasters title transfer service fee will be issued.
